This is how any breed of dog should act. What people don’t realize is that animals are like children in a lot of ways. For example consistency, repetition, punishing, and respect are just as valuable for children as for animals. If your animal doesn’t respect you then he/she won’t listen to you. If you don’t have consistency or repetition with your animal they will try to get away with not listening to you or not following through with the trick you taught them. If you don’t punish them for being bad or not listening to you they will not respect you and will stop listening to you. There is a technique that you can use to see if you your dog respects you and there is a different techinque to show your dog a sign of dominance if he/she gets out of hand. The first sign of respect your dog will show you is listening to a command. The second sign is when your dog watches your eyes and doesn’t stop looking at you until you say “OK” or “YES”. The video above shows a great example of this even with distractions in the background. Now the technique you could use to show your dog who’s boss is have your dog lay down, roll your dog gently on his/her back, put his/her two front paws in your two hands and have the top on your body over him/her. Your going to look like you are giving CPR but your hands will be holding both paws. If your dog doesn’t respect you or thinks he/she is dominant over you he/she will struggle to get up. This is when you keep him/her in the position but make sure he/she doesn’t hurt there back. One way of doing that is lay your arm over there body and hold them tight. PLEASE PLEASE be careful when doing this exercise. YOUR DOG WILL NOT GET HURT IF DONE PROPERLY. I will post a video of this exercise to show you how to do it without anybody getting hurt!
